Pulp & Paper Industry

In the pulp and paper industry, TCF (Totally Chlorine Free) bleaching has become a mandatory sectoral transition in today's environment of growing pressure against conventional bleaching chemicals such as chlorine dioxide and elemental chlorine. Chlorine-based bleaching chemicals generate persistent organic pollutants such as dioxins and furans; EU environmental directives and IPPC (Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control) requirements are therefore progressively restricting their use.

Ozone replaces chlorine-based chemicals in pulp bleaching, selectively oxidising lignin and increasing pulp brightness. It simultaneously reduces wastewater COD load and colour, lowering treatment costs. OCS Ozone provides tonne-scale ozone production systems, strengthening paper mills' production quality and environmental compliance alike.
